See Your Question Answered Here Online! - updated 2-7-05
" Coach, how do I increase velocity when pitching?" - First look at your mechanics. You want to make sure when you pick up your balance leg (right handed), it will be your left leg, that when it starts to move downwards, that your hands break apart, and your wieght stays back. When that front foot hits the ground your closed off with your front side(front shoulder, front hip) and that your throwing arm is up and elbow is above your throwing shoulder and the ball is facing away. The correct mechanics can lead to an increase. It might be small, but it help. E-mail me back, and I will send you throwing drills.
"Coach, I'm curious, how can I practice at home, without anyone to workout with?"
- That's a great question. Here's a couple of thoughts. First, if you can invest in a hitting tee, get some wiffle balls and you can hit in the backyard. Another thought as to working on your swing, is to get a mirror, or you can see yourself in you back window and watch your self work on your mechanics, your swing, your pitching mechanics, footsteps on fielding a ground ball, etc. And last, get a tennis ball and throw it against a wall and practice your fielding. Be creative, swing as much as you can, and practice throwing at a target, and at least your getting work in, when you don't have the luxary of a batting cage or practice facility."

Testimonials
Playing and coaching professionally for eighteen years and coaching at the college level for the past seven years, I have been around a lot of baseball people. I can honestly say that Coach Cornblum is one of the most knowledgeable, enthusiatic, and unselfish people involved in the game that we all love. Having Eddie as my assistant at Temple College for two years I saw firsthand his knowledge of the game. Working with him giving private instruction, and following his coaching career I saw his enthusiasm for the game and his unselfishness towards the players. His Fundamental Approach To Hitting Video is very informative, useful, and easy to understand. The drills he uses to reinforce his hitting approach can be implemented by the beginner all the way to the high school and college players alike. If you want to be a successful baseball player, learn to do the basics. If you want to do the basics correctly, use the instruction Coach Cornblum gives in his Fundamental Approach To Hitting Video Series. - Craig McMurtry, Head Coach Temple College

Eddie Cornblum is an asset to the Central Texas baseball community. He has a true "Passion" for the game of baseball. Eddie is a "student of the game"...a role model for our young athletes...and works hard to make his drills and camps FUN...He relates to kids of all ages and takes a sincere interest in the children he works with---they become his extended family...
Coach Cornblum---we appreciate you!!!

"Mark has been taking private hitting lessons from Eddie on and off for a year. Eddie was able to immediately see the problems in his stance and swing and provide corrective measures to improve his hitting. After only one lesson, Mark went from hitting infield base hits to hitting more powerful outfield hits. The continued lessons provided Mark with additional hitting coaching that has allowed him to become a consistent power hitter on his league teams.
Mark has also attended the Christmas and Spring Break Belton Tigers baseball camps. They provide a great opportunity for young children to either learn the basics or improve their current skills. The camp allows children to gain instruction with hitting, catching, fielding and provides opportunity for game play. The Belton coaches and players work with each child, no matter what their level of experience or talent. The camps are also a great opportunity to get kids outside, active, and interactive during break time from school."

P.S Jon or I will contact you soon to see when you have availability for lessons for Mark starting in February.
"Great to hear about your plans to expand. My son (Riley) has only attended 1 of your camps, but I was impressed by the energy that each of the instructors put forth, and the interest they took in all of the kids regardless of their age or current skill level. It is refreshing to see that there are still instructors like you that truly take a personal interest in the kids and helping them improve their baseball skills. Your love for the game truly shines forth, and my son had a blast at your camp and is looking forward to the next one."
Thanks again.

"My 9 year old son takes baseball lessons from Coach Eddie Cornblum. He comes away from the instruction with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the correct hitting and throwing fundamentals. In short, Eddie is one of those rare coaches that not only motivates but is also a great "teacher". He has an innate ability to communicate with his students to a level that fundamental understanding occurs. My son looks forward to his next weekly lesson which speaks volumes to the positive learning environment Coach Cornblum creates."

Our first experience with Coach Cornblum was several years ago at a Wildcat Baseball camp Normal
Our first experience with Coach Cornblum was several years ago at a Wildcat Baseball camp. I really liked the way he graded players showing their strengths and weaknesses. We have been going to Eddie for private lessons for several seasons now and he does a great job of not only in instructions but also teaching the game. He really takes an interest in his players, and the players and parents appreciate that. Thanks for everything.. Terry Nix

"I am extremely pleased with Coach Cornblum's efforts and methods. My son, Jared, has been taking lessons for a couple of years now and his development has really progressed well. Eddie has done a fantastic job of teaching the fundamentals to Jared which, in turn, has allowed Jared to become more consistent with his swing and it has increased his confidence at the plate. In my opinion, Coach Cornblum exemplifies what is great about this game. His extensive coaching experience and more importantly his understanding of the fundamentals and how to convey that to the players is unparalleled. He sincerely wants the best for every player that he instructs. In my opinion, there is no better option in this area for personalized instruction than Coach Cornblum and The Dugout Baseball Academy!" ~ Michael Janczak
